Teeth Extractions in Chilliwack
If your tooth is affected by significant decay and there is no option of saving it, tooth extraction may be recommended by your dentist. It is essential to have regular dental checkups to detect dental issues early; once the problem is diagnosed, prompt treatment can increase the chances of saving the tooth.
The Tooth Extraction Process
Your dentist will administer a local anesthetic to numb the extraction area for your comfort. They will gently loosen the tooth from the gum and then remove it with a pair of forceps. The procedure is fairly quick, but we do recommend taking certain precautions in the days following your treatment.
Care After Your Tooth Extraction
When the procedure is complete, your dentist will place some gauze on the extraction site. We recommend keeping this gauze in place for several hours and biting down on it to reduce any bleeding. Consume only soft foods for the first days and avoid strenuous physical activity for 10 to 14 days.
