Clear aligner therapy is a newer technology that is used as an alternative to traditional metal braces. This treatment option is suitable if you have minor alignment issues such as crooked teeth, crowded teeth, underbite, overbite, or crossbite. Clear aligner therapy can successfully bring teeth back into alignment, with results visible within a few months.

How Do Clear Aligners Work?

To create your set of custom aligners, your dentist will scan your mouth using an intraoral scanner and then send the scans to the dental lab for fabrication. Each set of aligners will have a slightly different shape, and as your teeth shift, you will switch to a new set of aligners every couple of weeks.

How Long Do You Have to Wear Clear Aligners?

To ensure proper alignment of the teeth, we recommend that you wear your aligners for at least 22 hours a day and only remove them while eating. The length of treatment will depend on the severity of the misalignment, but most treatments can be completed within 12 to 18 months.
